We understand the urgency of focusing on water conservation, especially in vulnerable regions like Gurugram. Brookfield Properties collaborated with the Abhipsa Foundation to restore natural habitats, recharge groundwater and support overall community well-being. This is part of the initiative to contribute towards the environmental rejuvenation of water bodies.

We undertook a project to revive the pond at the Border Security Force (BSF) campus in Bhondsi, Gurugram. The pond had sewage logging, leading to mosquito-borne diseases and negatively impacting the water supply. We followed a multistep pond rejuvenation approach to cater to this problem. This included pond development, laying of geo-coir on pond slope, installing wastewater treatment plant, wetland plantation near the pond, rainwater channelization to the pond, gravel bed set-up for wetland plantation, etc.

Our intervention successfully transformed a polluted pond into a thriving ecosystem. This initiative supported Abhipsa Foundation’s Gurujal initiative, which aims to rejuvenate and rehabilitate ponds to enhance groundwater levels. In addition, our employee volunteers actively participated in the initiative by painting pathways and planting saplings, demonstrating their commitment to corporate social responsibility.
