Community Strides | The Powai Run 2025
March 2025

Running together, thriving together
Four years ago, Brookfield Properties joined hands with the Rotary Club of Mumbai Lakers with a shared goal: to elevate the Powai Run into an event that not only promotes fitness but also fosters a sense of belonging. Fast forward to today, and that aspiration has come alive beautifully.
Brookfield Properties goes beyond building real estate and focuses on cultivating thriving communities. This philosophy was on full display at the 14th Powai Run, held on January 5 at Downtown Powai and which drew over 10,000 participants.

The journey to the Powai Run 2025 began long before the starting whistle. Months of meticulous planning and a series of engaging pre-events ensured the momentum was built well ahead of the main day. ‘Rock and Run Satsang’, an evening of soulful music and community bonding, set the tone for the D-day. Another highlight was the ‘Carbohydrate Loading Activity’, hosted a day before the event at House of Mandarin exclusively for the CEO/CXO community. Renowned nutritionist Maitreyi Bokil shared tips on performance nutrition, ensuring participants were fueled and ready to perform at their best.

The event was flagged off by Brookfield Properties’ leadership team
Brookfield Properties’ commitment to community building isn’t just a corporate statement; it’s practiced by its leadership. Flagging off the event were Ankur Gupta, Managing Partner and Head of Real Estate for Asia Pacific, Ankit Gupta, President, and Reema Kundnani, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Key Accounts. They were joined by Niranjan Hiranandani, MD of Hiranandani Group.
The event featured a range of participants—from students to CXOs—united by their passion for wellness. Notable Brookfield tenants, including employees from Deloitte, Aptia, TIAA, Scorpio Marine Management India, and Ergo Technology and Services, laced up alongside corporate leaders from the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation (GIC), a strategic partner in the Brookfield India Real Estate Investment Trust portfolio.
This Powai Run also featured the second edition of the ‘I Run for IIT-B’ initiative and 1,000 students and alumni from IIT Bombay participated. Flagged off by Prof. Suryanarayana Doolla, Dean of Student Affairs, IIT-B, the initiative strengthened ties between the prestigious institution and the Powai community. A dedicated lounge for C-suite executives and IIT-B alumni provided networking opportunities.
In addition to the 10 km and 4 km runs, the main day featured curated activities that turned the area into a wellness festival.
The funds raised through this event will support various charitable causes.
