Sustainable Procurement and Domestic Sourcing
Sustainable procurement is at the core of Brookfield Properties’ supply chain strategy. We are proud to report that 99% of our procurement is domestic, supporting local economies and reducing the environmental impact associated with long-distance transportation.

Community Engagement and Climate Change Awareness
Our engagement with vendors extends beyond policies and procedures. We actively involve them in our climate change initiatives and community events on campus. We promote awareness and knowledge about climate change through activities such as periodic plogging drives and Environment Day quizzes.

Responsible procurement

Our approach to responsible procurement begins with integrating ESG considerations into the supplier onboarding process. We require mandatory ratification of our vendor code of conduct for 100% of our vendors, which includes compliance with environmental regulations and a commitment to sustainability.

During our supplier assessments, we ensure that they fully comply with our Code of Conduct if there are no child or forced labour incidents in their workforce. Our checkpoints include the screening of vendor employees, awareness sessions and periodic consultation forums.

Value Chain Responsibility and Sustainability Brookfield Properties’ success is deeply connected to the performance of our suppliers. Therefore, we have implemented measures to ensure the full integration of our ESG practices in our supply chain. This includes a focus on reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, environmental stewardship, and our teams’ health, safety and well-being.

Notably, our occupiers have not reported incidents of non-compliance with health and safety regulations during this financial year.

Our Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Policy is committed to continuous improvement, emphasizing the establishment of measurable goals, strict adherence to legal standards, employee empowerment, proactive risk identification, stakeholder engagement and robust communication. Human rights

Our commitment to human rights is non-negotiable and we continue to integrate respect for these rights into every aspect of our operations. In FY2024, we have maintained and strengthened our dedication to ethical sourcing and labor practices.

We stand firmly against any form of discriminatory treatment within our operations and supply chain. In this regard, we prohibit child and forced labor and any discrimination on the grounds of caste, creed, religion, colour, sexual orientation, disability, gender or any other parameter. We follow a zero-tolerance approach towards any kind of discrimination or harassment and prohibit all forms of slavery, human trafficking and violence or physical, sexual, psychological and verbal abuse.
