As one of London’s largest office portfolios, we are committed to powering ESG progress. We will do this by forging powerful partnerships with occupiers, stakeholders and communities. Collaborating on sustainability goals so we can achieve more, together. We make sustainability simple by helping tenants and partners:
Track: We provide access to clear and concise data for tracking, and ask the same from our tenants and partners. Greater goal setting and progress achieved with unprecedented transparency.
Connect: We bring great minds together to exchange ideas, collaborate, upskill and stay accountable.
Deliver: Achieve collective sustainability goals through a cycle of improvement and feedback.

Empowering our people
We recognise that a critical element of delivering our ESG strategy is to empower all our staff with robust knowledge about sustainability through training and knowledge sharing. The goal is to build on the teams' understanding and context of ESG issues, demonstrate how these issues manifest in our business and make sure our teams have the knowledge and capabilities to deliver on actions in support of our overarching strategy. We have delivered two training courses to achieve this goal, in total delivering 784 hours of professional training by specialised professionals. This knowledge has since been shared with wider teams and tenants, benefitting the portfolio as a whole.

Reimagining waste management
We have developed a waste strategy aligned with our commitment to providing an economic and sustainable waste management approach which results in a less costly use of economic and environmental resources. In partnership with our new waste partner, Recorra, we now have a system where 98% of our waste is processed in the UK and we have zero waste to landfill. We work closely with our service partners and tenants to keep contamination low and utilise state-of-the-art sorting technology. Recycling is actively encouraged across the portfolio through collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Converting a gas-powered office to an electric landmark
In collaboration with our occupiers, we are undertaking the full electricification of this 545,000 square foot landmark building - replacing gas boilers with air source heat pumps and coolers, all while the building remains open for business. This hand-in-hand partnership with our occupiers will transform the energy efficiency of the building, future proofing it for the MEES legislation, well ahead of the proposed 2030 deadline.

Fit-out putting circular economy into practice
Fit-out is real estate's neglected carbon and waste problem. In the urgency to replace fluorescent bulbs with LEDs, for example, it is common practice to discard the old fittings completely. With the refit of Nexus level 10, we proved it's possible to do things differently. Lighting carcasses and hardwood floors refurbished. Spare office furniture donated to charity partners. Doors, walls and ceiling tiles reused and made good.
