The Los Angeles-based luxury activewear brand is stretching in new directions.

With a mantra of “bringing yoga to the world,” fast-growing studio-to-street athleisure brand Alo Yoga is evolving into a full-fledged lifestyle brand rooted in wellness and mindfulness.

Founded in 2007 by childhood friends and clothing industry business partners Danny Harris and Marco DeGeorge, Alo Yoga was created to inspire people to experience the transformative power of yoga and bring that higher level of consciousness — and cutting-edge workout style — off the mat and onto the street.

Alo — which stands for air, land, and ocean — reflects the brand’s commitment to sustainability. Alo Yoga’s headquarters in Los Angeles runs on solar power, its warehouses are paper-free, its production is sweatshop-free, and all Alo store cafes only carry plant-based and 100% organic products.

Inspired by the California lifestyle, Alo Yoga’s silhouettes are designed with both performance and style in mind, whether you’re doing a Downward Dog pose or a grocery run. So, it’s no surprise that the brand immediately caught the attention of celebrities and models including Taylor Swift, Gigi Hadid, and Kendall Jenner, who propelled the brand to cult status when photographed wearing it on the streets.

In 2021, this yoga apparel and accessories brand made Fast Company’s prestigious annual list of the World’s Most Innovative Companies, and by December 2022, the brand saw a 56 percent year-over-year growth, according to Earnest Analytics.

From the brand’s popular digital fitness platform, Alo Moves, to its Alo Sanctuary stores equipped with yoga studios and its non-profit, Alo Gives, which introduces children to the benefits of yoga and mindfulness, Alo Yoga has come full circle with its mission to spread mindful movement, inspire wellness, and create community.

With locations at Oakbrook Center in Illinois and Park Meadows in Colorado, Brookfield Properties is proud to partner with Alo Yoga.
