Whole Foods Market brings a new retail experience to the shopping center

February 17, 2022

Whole Foods Market at Stonestown Galleria is a great example of how we’re repurposing space to create a marketplace of the future.

In January 2022, Brookfield Properties partnered with Whole Foods Market to bring a new retail experience to Stonestown Galleria in San Francisco. The more than 50,000-square-foot store — located in the space Macy’s once occupied — reflects San Francisco’s coastal style, with imagery inspired by the Pacific Ocean sunsets. Highlights include a full-service seafood counter featuring caviar and smoked sturgeon from Tsar Nicoulai Caviar, oysters from Bodega Bay Oyster Company, and trout from TWO X SEA. Other highlights include a bakery offering L’Artisan macarons, La Boulangerie croissants, and Rubicon Bakers cupcakes, and an extensive selection of artisan cheeses, chocolates, jams, and wines.

Both Brookfield Properties and Whole Foods Market are committed to supporting our local Stonestown community. For example, Whole Foods Market has partnered with Farming Hope, a nonprofit that manages garden-to-table job training for formerly incarcerated or homeless San Franciscans. Whole Foods Market will also sponsor Food Funded, an annual event that aims to catalyze an equitable funding flow for food ventures, and the San Francisco Chinese New Year Festival and Parade, an annual event celebrating the Chinese Lunar New Year.

At Brookfield Properties, we’re revolutionizing retail by creating work/play/live environments that meet the needs of today’s shopper while benefitting the communities where they live. As we continue to introduce innovative retail experiences across our retail portfolio, we are proud to partner with Whole Foods Market — the world’s leader in natural and organic foods.
