Mark Kostic

Senior Vice President, Asset Management | United States

 

Mark Kostic is Senior Vice President, Asset Management, for Brookfield Properties’ retail group in Chicago, IL, where he co-leads asset management duties for the firm’s U.S. retail portfolio encompassing 150+ mall and urban retail properties.

Before joining the Brookfield Properties’ retail platform in Chicago, Mark was responsible for the firm’s Forest City New York commercial portfolio, consisting of MetroTech Center in Brooklyn, the New York Times Building and a 300,000 sq. ft. retail collection in Times Square, among others. Prior to that, Mark oversaw the Asset Management of 15 million sq. ft. of office and retail space including Brookfield Place New York, Manhattan West and the Bleecker Street retail portfolio. He is actively involved in identifying new partnerships with retailers and lifestyle offerings as well as technology solutions for the larger Brookfield portfolio. Mark played a key role in the $350 million transformation of the World Financial Center into Brookfield Place, the retail strategy and anchor tenant leasing at Manhattan West as well as in obtaining construction financing for the 844-unit Eugene luxury rental building at Manhattan West.

Prior to working in Brookfield’s Asset Management division, Mark participated in the company’s rotational program encompassing Acquisitions, Office and Retail Leasing, Asset Management and Development. He graduated with a BBA in finance and a concentration in real estate from Temple University and is a member of the Urban Land Institute, the International Council for Shopping Centers and the Real Estate Board of New York.
